Virginia St, Berkeley: three-floor ducted heat pump with ERV and wildfire filtration (in progress)
Underway: a Berkeley remodel and addition with one Mitsubishi Smart Multi heat pump feeding three ducted units on three floors, a Zehnder ERV, and MERV 16 plus wildfire filtration.
This Berkeley remodel and addition, being built with the general contractor, puts heating, cooling, fresh air and filtration on all three floors. One Mitsubishi Smart Multi outdoor unit feeds a branch box and three ducted indoor units, one per floor. Distribution is rigid sheet metal: the lower 2-ton air handler's supply trunk is built on Unistrut, mastic-sealed and painted. A Zehnder ComfoAir Q450 ERV brings in balanced fresh air through 4 supply and 5 exhaust points, and AprilAire MERV 16 and Camfil GlidePack filters handle smoke season.
